Men's Basketball Rolls Past Ohio Dominican, 82-59

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's basketball team (8-1, 5-0 GLIAC) raced past the visiting Ohio Dominican Panthers (6-4, 2-3 GLIAC), 82-59 on Thursday night inside the Matthaei for its eighth straight win.  The Warriors have won eight straight contests for the first time since 2011-12.  The 8-1 start is also the best start since that same 2011-12 squad.  WSU ends the calendar year in first place atop the GLIAC.

DETROIT -- The first-place Wayne State University men's basketball program (8-1, 5-0) will look to begin 2017 the same way it finished 2016 - winning.  The Warriors enter the new year with an eight-game winning streak, the program's longest since 2011.  Wayne State will need to handle the top two teams in the GLIAC South Division if it wants to remain unbeaten in league contests.  WSU will travel to Walsh (9-3, 3-3 GLIAC) on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. matchup and then to Findlay (10-3, 4-2 GLIAC) on Saturday to conclude the road trip.

DETROIT -- After splitting a tough road trip last week and seeing a nine-game winning steak come to an end, the Wayne State University men's basketball team (9-2, 6-1 GLIAC) will return to the Matthaei to host Michigan Tech (6-8, 4-3 GLIAC) on Thursday night and Northern Michigan (3-9, 1-6 GLIAC) on Saturday afternoon.  The Warriors remain on top of the GLIAC standings after playing through the league's South Division.  This week's games will begin a double round-robin format through the North Division.
